In Oscar Wilde’s "The Selfish Giant", a giant forbids children to play in his beautiful garden, and as a result the garden falls into endless winter. When he finally opens his heart and welcomes the children back, spring returns, and he learns that love and kindness are the true sources of beauty and life.
